Anti-Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour can be defined as:
any thing that causes or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to a person not of the same household.
Anti-social behaviour can include almost anything; examples include:
- Graffiti/Damage
- Rowdy/nuisance behaviour
- Drunken/drug induced behaviour
- Noise
- Littering
- Problems with vehicles, animals or neighbours
Anti-social behaviour can have a huge effect on a business in terms of both staff morale and on customers/clients.
Reducing anti-social behaviour often involves close working partnerships with numerous agencies such as the police, local authorities, local chambers of commerce, housing association etc. Solutions to anti-social behaviour that have be seen to work are CCTV, a visible police presence during peak hours, informing parents of their children’s anti-social behaviour, on street drinking bans, providing a 24 hr phone number to report nuisance behaviour etc.
Initially, your local police force or your local authority department that deals with anti-social behaviour will be your first point of contact.

Arson
Arson is a particularly destructive crime which impacts on both the individual victim and on society as a whole. It is the largest single cause of major fires in the UK and at its worst, leads to loss of life and significant financial damage. Arson not only has financial implications for business but the physical damage which results from this crime can have an extremely negative affect on the operability and the well being of the business staff.
Many websites exist that contain sound practical advice to combat arson. Some of these are listed below:-
